City of Dreams (Revised)

As I sit at the corner of North Tryon , I approach a piece of of artwork on the side of a brick building. It appears to be a woman with many things also going on in the artwork as well. The colors of the artwork are very vibrant. It is titled “City of Dreams”. The woman’s earrings appear to be planets, one of her eyes appears to be different from the other kind of like a robotic eye. I don’t quite understand what is going on in the artwork but it is very eye catching. I can smell the strong scent of tobacco , from the man sitting across from me smoking a cigar and arguing on the phone with his wife or mistress im not sure. The air around me is very humid and moist! Causing me to sweat outrageously! School buses full of loud small children pass by as I look into the street. I see many pedestrians walking down the street appearing to be walking to work they all seem to be late to work because they are all moving pretty fast. I hear a lot of loud construction vehicles in the background picking up and dropping big objects . I begin to zone off and get distracted at everything going on around me until I remember what I am supposed to be doing tap on my phone screen and continue to write. As I look back at the artwork I see lots of flowers and what appears to be genes on the artwork and what also appears to be bricks. The woman who created the artwork refers to herself as “Mother of Invention”. As I look up where I’m sitting from I can see the Bank of America building. It’s very tall and shiny, and bigger than I thought it was honestly. It makes me feel empowered, just being uptown in general makes me feel good. Being that where I come from it’s not many things similar to it, it makes me feel as motivated. As I look into the street I see a lot of people riding scooters to get to their destination, I also a couple   homeless people walk by occasionally. There is a crane across the street unloading things into a truck I can’t quite see what they are, the heavy equipment shakes the ground as it is being moved . I see a black couple walking down the street with their son they seem to be happy. I now hear a loud street cleaner rumbling down the road moving at a very unusual pace. As the street cleaner progresses down the road it creates a huge cloud of dust polluting the air making it hard to breath. But what I do not notice is that I dropped my phone while crossing the street. Once I finally realize it is my brand new phone my heart drops and I begin to panic. I begin to run towards my phone but I don’t make it in enough time. Before I could make it the street cleaner sweeps up my phone. I yell, “No! My phone!” But the man conducting the street cleaner could not hear because he had headphones in. Reacting out of fear, I pushed a man passing by off of his scooter and began to chase the street cleaner. It seemed as if it was moving faster than it was before. The cleaner finally came to a stop at a red light, as I approached the cleaner the light turned green and the scooters battery died. The city has won. Another one bites the dust.
