Introduction to Remembered Event

The purpose of the essay was to relive a moment in my life that had a long term affect on me. My intended audience is Professor Harmon, I say this because I wanted him to know me personally and understand why I may not speak a lot and have bad anxiety. While writing the memoir I constantly asked myself if I had enough detail. I felt that some things could’ve been explained more than they were. I learned a lot from this piece, the part I found most important was expressing myself. I have never wrote about this topic or talked about it since it happen, it was hard writing it, I became very depressed and at times I didn’t want to continue. I constantly had to take breaks while writing because I found myself becoming overwhelmed. After i was finished with the paper I felt really good about my work because i was able to get something off my chest that i had been holding in for 11 years. The strength in my writing was the detail that I used when going back to relive this event. A weakness that I faced was supporting my explanations. The only question I have is , what was the purpose of this assignment ? the assignment had a major affect on the term “voice in writing” , I say this because I used my voice and turned put it on paper.
